Diterpenoid Alkaloids from Delphinium caeruleum.[Pubmed:17230340]

A new minor diterpenoid alkaloid, caeruline, was isolated from DELPHINIUM CAERULEUM Jacq. ex Camb. Its structure was elucidated as 1 on the basis of spectral evidence. Along with this new compound, three known diterpenoid alkaloids were also isolated from this plant and identified as Tatsiensine, delcosine, and lycoctonine which had not been found in this herb previously.

A new and a known diterpenoid alkaloid have been isolated from the root of Delphinium kamaonense var. glabrescens. The chemical structure of the new alkaloid, named glabredelphine, was established as 2(3)-dehydro-6-demethyl-18-demethoxy-delcosine by IR, MS, 1HNMR and 13CNMR spectral data. The known one was identified as Tatsiensine. They were isolated from this plant for the first time.
