General tips | For obtaining a higher solubility , please warm the tube at 37 ℃ and shake it in the ultrasonic bath for a while.Stock solution can be stored below -20℃ for several months. We recommend that you prepare and use the solution on the same day. However, if the test schedule requires, the stock solutions can be prepared in advance, and the stock solution must be sealed and stored below -20℃. In general, the stock solution can be kept for several months. Before use, we recommend that you leave the vial at room temperature for at least an hour before opening it. |

About Packaging | 1. The packaging of the product may be reversed during transportation, cause the high purity compounds to adhere to the neck or cap of the vial.Take the vail out of its packaging and shake gently until the compounds fall to the bottom of the vial. 2. For liquid products, please centrifuge at 500xg to gather the liquid to the bottom of the vial. 3. Try to avoid loss or contamination during the experiment. |

Description | 1. Saponin V (300,150,75 mg·kg-1) can significantly decrease the times of cough, saponin V 300 mg/kg can remarkably increase cough latent period, saponin V 5 g/L remarkably antagonized contraction of isolated ileum, saponin V 2.5 and 1.25 g/L antagonized trachea spasm in guinea pig induced by histamine; saponin V exhibits significant antitussive, expectorant and antispasmodic effects. 2. Chikusetsu saponin V can attenuate H2O2-induced oxidative stress in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells through Sirt1/PGC-1α/Mn-SOD signaling pathways, suggests that chikusetsu saponin V exhibits neuroprotective effects. |

An 18-norspirostanol saponin with inhibitory action against COX-2 production from the underground part of Trillium tschonoskii.[Pubmed:17409572]
Chem Pharm Bull (Tokyo). 2007 Apr;55(4):679-81.
A novel 18-norspirostanol saponin (1), along with Trillenoside A (2), was obtained from the underground parts of Trillium tschonoskii MAXIM., collected in Shennongjia Forest District, China. Based on the chemical and spectroscopic evidences, their structures were determined as shown in Fig. 1. 1 and 2 displayed marked inhibitory action towards COX-2 production in macrophagocytes of the mouse abdominal cavity stimulated by LPS at 10 microg/ml.
