A new apotirucallane-type triterpenoid from Atalantia buxifolia.[Pubmed: 26016508]

A new triterpenoid (1) with apotirucallane skeleton was isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots of Atalantia buxifolia (Poir.) Oliv. The complete structural assignment of the new compound was elucidated by a combination of 1D, 2D NMR (HMQC, HMBC, COSY, and NOESY), and HR-ESI-MS analysis. Moreover, this new compound was evaluated in vitro for its cytotoxic, antimicrobial and enzymes inhibitory activities.

Two new acridone alkaloids from the branch of Atalantia buxifolia and their biological activity.[Pubmed: 23796077]

Two new acridone alkaloids, 3-methoxy-1,4,5-trihydroxy-10-methylacridone (1) and 2,3-dimethoxy-1,4,5-trihydroxy-10-methylacridone (2), were isolated from the ethanol extract of the branch of Atalantia buxifolia. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 1D and 2D NMR. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited significant antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and weak inhibitory effect on acetylcholinesterase.

A novel acridone akaloid from Atalantia buxifolia.[Pubmed: 23721230]

Study of the chemical constituents of ethanol extract from the aerial parts of Atalantia buxifolia led to the identification of a new acridone alkaloid named as buxifoliadine (1), along with known compounds citrusinine--I (2), N-methylatalaphylline (3), Severinolid (4) and cycloseverinolide (5). Structural elucidation of compound 1 was carried out by a combination of mass spectrometry and (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopy analyses.

A new tetranortriterpenoid from the roots of Atalantia buxifolia.[Pubmed: 22568859]

A new tetranortriterpenoid, named 6-deacetyl-severinolide, together with six known tetranortriterpenoids severinolide, acetyl-isoepiatalantin, 7-isovaleroylcycloepiatalantin, cycloepiatalantin, 7-isovaleroylcycloseverinolide, and atalantin, was isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots of Atalantia buxifolia collected in Hainan. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 1D and 2D NMR (HMQC, ¹H-¹H COSY, HMBC, and NOESY).

[A limonoid from the Chinese drug dong-feng-jie (Atalantia buxifolia)].[Pubmed: 11938932]

A new limonoid was isolated from the ethanol extract of dried roots and stems of Atalantia buxifolia (Poir) Oliv.. Based on chemical properties and spectral analysis, including 1H- and 13CNMR, DEPT, MS, IR and UV spectra, its structure have been identified as: 6-deoxy-6 alpha-acetoxyatalantin acetate. This compound was isolated from this plant for the first time.
