Ambroma augusta (L.) L.f.
Abroma augusta Common name - Anabo. Anabo is found from the Batan Islands and northern Luzon to Mindanao in thickets, waste places, and open secondary forest at low and medium altitudes. Report shows that an infusion of the fresh leaves and the stems in cold water is demulcent and very efficacious in gonorrhea. Augustic acid, a new oleanane derivative, and a stigmasterol glycoside were isolated from the roots of Ambromaaugusta. Their structures were established as olean-12-en-2β,3β-diol-28-oic acid and stigmast-5,22-dien-3-O-a-d-glucopyranoside respectively, on the basis of full spectral analyses and chemical methods. Abroma augusta is distributed from India, throughout Southeast Asia to southern China, The Solomon Islands and northern Australia. It is sometimes cultivated in India and New Guinea and experimental plantings have been set up in the Philippines and Africa.
