METHODS AND RESULTS:
A new pentanortriterpenoid, 1-O-methylclausenolide (1) and a known limonoid, Zapoterin (4) were isolated from the stem bark of Clausena excavata (Rutaceae). Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis and chemical transformation.
