beta-Amyrin
|
1. alpha- and beta-Amyrin have hepatoprotective potential against toxic liver injury, the diminution in oxidative stress and toxic metabolite formation as likely mechanisms involved in its hepatoprotection.
2. alpha- and beta-Amyrin have antinociceptive properties in inflammatory models of pain, the mechanisms involved in their action are not completely understood but seem to involve the inhibition of protein kinase A- and protein kinase C-sensitive pathways.
3. alpha- and beta-Amyrin have anti-inflammatory potential, they retard acute inflammation in rat model of periodontitis and warrant further study on its efficacy to prevent chronic periodontitis-associated bone loss.
4. alpha- and beta-Amyrin mixture has gastro-protective activity, the mechanism involves at least in part the activation of capsaicin-sensitive primary afferent neurons.
5. alpha- and beta-Amyrin mixture has sedative and anxiolytic effects, the mechanism may involve an action on benzodiazepine-type receptors, and also an antidepressant effect where noradrenergic mechanisms will probably play a role.
6. Beta-Amyrin can enhance the total sleeping behavior in pentobarbital-induced sleeping model via the activation of GABAergic neurotransmitter system through GABA content in the brain.
7. beta-Amyrin has antiviral activity. |

Liriodendrin
|
1. Liriodendrin has anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities.
2. Liriodendrin shows an excellent hypoglycemic activity.
3. Liriodendrin has protective effects on dopamine-induced cytotoxicity via its anti-oxidative properties by reducing ROS level and anti-apoptotic effect via protection of mitochondrion membrane potential (ΔΨm).
4. Liriodendrin may be a potent suppressor of CaCl(2)-induced arrhythmias, the prophylactic administration of liriodendrin is effective in prolonging latency of arrhythmia and reducing the occurrence of ventricular fibrillation from 75% to 25%.
5. Liriodendrin has inhibitory activities on gastritis and gastric ulcer, it can inhibit colonization of Helicobacter pylori effectively, it could be utilized for the treatment and/or protection of gastritis and gastric ulcer.
6. Liriodendrin plays protective role in sepsis-induced acute lung injury, it regulates lung inflammation, the phosphorylation of the NF-kB (p65) and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). |

Lobetyolin
|
Lobetyolin has a protective role in gastric mucosa injury, and the mechanism may be relate to the increase in level of 6-K-PGF1αand the inhibition the excretion of gastric acid and EGF.
Lobetyolin inhibits the gene expression of MUC5AC mucin induced by PMA. |

Neohesperidin
|
Neohesperidin, a natural new nutrition sweetener, has antioxidant (IC50=22.31ug/mL), anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. It can attenuate cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury via the inhibition of neuronal and oxidative stress through the regulation of the apoptotic pathway and activating the Akt/Nrf2/HO-1 pathway, it may be useful for the treatment and/or protection of gastritis. |

Arbutin
|
Arbutin is a tyrosinase inhibitor with an IC50 of 1.09 mM, which has gastroprotective, whitening, anti- age, anti-oxidant , anti-inflammatory, a depigmenting effects and UVB/ UVC filter. Arbutin has mutagenicity in mammalian cells after activation by human intestinal bacteria. |
