Autophagy

Autophagy is a process by which a cell breaks down macromolecules in response to starvation or stress signals. While it is closely linked with apoptosis, autophagy is primarily characterized as a catabolic mechanism by which cellular energy homeostasis is maintained.

  1. Cat.No. Product Name Information/Activity
  2. BCC1218 Pepstatin A Pepstatin (Pepstatin A) is a specific aspartic protease inhibitor produced by actinomycetes, with IC50s of 4.5 nM, 6.2 nM, 150 nM, 290 nM, 520 nM and 260 nM for hemoglobin-pepsin, hemoglobin-proctase, casein-pepsin, casein-proctase, casein-acid protease and hemoglobin-acid protease, respectively. Pepstatin Ammonium also inhibits HIV protease. Pepstatin A chemical structure
  3. BCC6420 Spautin-1 Spautin-1 is a specific and potent autophagy inhibitor which inhibits ubiquitin-specific peptidases, USP10 and USP13 with IC50s of 0.6-0.7 μM. Spautin-1 chemical structure
  4. BCN4650 Paclitaxel Paclitaxel is a naturally occurring antineoplastic agent and stabilizes tubulin polymerization. Paclitaxel can cause both mitotic arrest and apoptotic cell death. Paclitaxel also induces autophagy. Paclitaxel chemical structure
  5. BCN2292 Vinblastine Sulfate Vinblastine sulfate is a cytotoxic alkaloid used against various cancer types. Vinblastine sulfate inhibits the formation of microtubule and suppresses nAChR with an IC50 of 8.9 μM. Vinblastine Sulfate chemical structure
  6. BCC3874 Wortmannin Wortmannin (SL-2052; KY-12420) is a potent, selective and irreversible PI3K inhibitor with an IC50 of 3 nM. Wortmannin also blocks autophagy formation, and potently inhibits Polo-like kinase 1 (PlK1) and Plk3 with IC50s of 5.8 and 48 nM, respectively. Wortmannin chemical structure
  7. BCC3917 8'-Epicleomiscosin A 8'-Epicleomiscosin A chemical structure
  8. BCC6980 A23187, free acid Calcimycin (A-23187) is an antibiotic and a unique divalent cation ionophore (like calcium and magnesium). Calcimycin induces Ca2+-dependent cell death by increasing intracellular calcium concentration. Calcimycin inhibits the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and some fungi. Calcimycin also inhibits the activity of ATPase and uncouples oxidative phosphorylation of mammalian cells. Calcimycin induces apoptosis. A23187, free acid chemical structure
  9. BCC4377 Amiodarone HCl Amiodarone hydrochloride is an antiarrhythmic drug for inhibition of ATP-sensitive potassium channel with IC50 of 19.1 μM. Amiodarone HCl chemical structure
  10. BCC3599 Apicidin Apicidin (OSI 2040) is a fungal metabolite, acts as a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, with antiparasitic activity and a broad spectrum antiproliferative activity. Apicidin chemical structure
  11. BCC4387 Brefeldin A Brefeldin A (BFA) is a lactone antibiotic and a specific inhibitor of protein trafficking. Brefeldin A blocks the transport of secreted and membrane proteins from endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi apparatus. Brefeldin A is also an autophagy and mitophagy inhibitor. Brefeldin A is a CRISPR/Cas9 activator. Brefeldin A inhibits HSV-1 and has anti-cancer activity. Brefeldin A chemical structure
