Three new steroidal glycosides from the roots of Cynanchum stauntonii.[Pubmed:23555098]
Biomed Res Int. 2013;2013:816145.
Three new steroidal glycosides, named as stauntosides L, M, and N (1-3), along with one known C21 steroidal glycoside, Anhydrohirundigenin monothevetoside (4), were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of the roots of Cynanchum stauntonii. The structures of these new compounds were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses, mainly 1D and 2D NMR, HRESI-MS, and chemical methods.
Steroids from the roots of Cynanchum stauntonii.[Pubmed:15549665]
Planta Med. 2004 Nov;70(11):1075-9.
A chemical investigation of the roots of Cynanchum stauntonii has resulted in the characterization of a new hydroperoxide with a 13,14 : 14,15-disecopregnane-type skeleton, named stauntonine (1), together with three related compounds, Anhydrohirundigenin (2), Anhydrohirundigenin monothevetoside (3), and glaucogenin-C mono- D-thevetoside (4). Their structures were established by spectroscopic methods, including X-ray crystallographic diffraction analysis of stauntonine that confirmed its relative stereochemistry. The compound 1 showed dose-dependent relaxation on aortic rings with endothelium contracted by phenylepherine or KCl.
[C21 steroidal constituents from Cynanchum hancockianum].[Pubmed:1481676]
Yao Xue Xue Bao. 1992;27(8):595-602.
Two new compounds hancogenin B (V) and hancoside A (VI) and four known compounds glucogenin C (I), cynatratoside A (II), glaucogenin A (III) and Anhydrohirundigenin (IV) were isolated from the roots of Cynanchum hancockianum (Maxim) Al. Iljinski. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral evidence. The fragmentation ways of 13:14, 14:15-secopregnenes in EIMS were outlined and the antitumor activity of II and the antiendotoxic activity of VI were also preliminarily tested in vitro.
