Alzheimer's Disease Research

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common type of dementia, is an irreversible and progressive neurodegenerative disorder causing cognitive and functional impairment. It is characterized by formation of protein aggregates and progressive loss of neurons in the central nervous system (CNS). The symptoms of AD include short-term memory loss, confusion, irritability, aggression and mood swings, progressing to long-term memory deficit, withdrawal from social interactions and subsequently a loss in higher central functioning.

  1. Cat.No. Product Name Information/Activity
  2. BCC3874 Wortmannin Wortmannin (SL-2052; KY-12420) is a potent, selective and irreversible PI3K inhibitor with an IC50 of 3 nM. Wortmannin also blocks autophagy formation, and potently inhibits Polo-like kinase 1 (PlK1) and Plk3 with IC50s of 5.8 and 48 nM, respectively. Wortmannin chemical structure
  3. BCC3917 8'-Epicleomiscosin A 8'-Epicleomiscosin A chemical structure
  4. BCC6980 A23187, free acid Calcimycin (A-23187) is an antibiotic and a unique divalent cation ionophore (like calcium and magnesium). Calcimycin induces Ca2+-dependent cell death by increasing intracellular calcium concentration. Calcimycin inhibits the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and some fungi. Calcimycin also inhibits the activity of ATPase and uncouples oxidative phosphorylation of mammalian cells. Calcimycin induces apoptosis. A23187, free acid chemical structure
  5. BCC4377 Amiodarone HCl Amiodarone hydrochloride is an antiarrhythmic drug for inhibition of ATP-sensitive potassium channel with IC50 of 19.1 μM. Amiodarone HCl chemical structure
  6. BCC3599 Apicidin Apicidin (OSI 2040) is a fungal metabolite, acts as a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, with antiparasitic activity and a broad spectrum antiproliferative activity. Apicidin chemical structure
  7. BCC4387 Brefeldin A Brefeldin A (BFA) is a lactone antibiotic and a specific inhibitor of protein trafficking. Brefeldin A blocks the transport of secreted and membrane proteins from endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi apparatus. Brefeldin A is also an autophagy and mitophagy inhibitor. Brefeldin A is a CRISPR/Cas9 activator. Brefeldin A inhibits HSV-1 and has anti-cancer activity. Brefeldin A chemical structure
  8. BCC4378 Carbamazepine Carbamazepine, a sodium channel blocker, is an anticonvulsant drug. Carbamazepine chemical structure
  9. BCC4325 Clonidine HCl Clonidine hydrochloride is an agonist of α2-adrenoceptor and potent antihypertensive agent. Clonidine HCl chemical structure
  10. BCC1184 Dexamethasone (DHAP) Dexamethasone (Hexadecadrol) is a glucocorticoid receptor agonist. Dexamethasone also significantly decreases CD11b, CD18, and CD62L expression on neutrophils, and CD11b and CD18L expression on monocytes. Dexamethasone (DHAP) chemical structure
  11. BCC4361 Dorsomorphin 2HCl Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride (Compound C dihydrochloride) is a potent, selective and ATP-competitive AMPK inhibitor, with a Ki of 109 nM. Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride inhibits BMP pathway by targeting the type I receptors ALK2, ALK3, and ALK6. Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride induces autophagy. Dorsomorphin 2HCl chemical structure
