Neurotransmission

Neurotransmission, or synaptic transmission, involves the passage of signals by electrical or chemical means from one neuron to another. It allows communication between nerve cells for the propagation of electrical impulses to and from the central nervous system leading to the co-ordination of secretion, muscle contraction and organ function.

  1. Cat.No. Product Name Information/Activity
  2. BCC7367 NF 157 NF157 is a highly selective nanomolar P2Y11 antagonist with a pKi of 7.35. The IC50s are 463 nM, 1811 µM, 170 µM for P2Y11 (Ki=44.3 nM), P2Y1 (Ki=187 µM), P2Y2 (Ki=28.9 µM), respectively. NF157, significantly reduces expression of metalloproteinase (MMP)-3, MMP-13, can be used in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA). NF 157 chemical structure

  4. BCC7043 NF 449 Highly selective P2X1 antagonist NF 449 chemical structure
  5. BCC6725 PPADS tetrasodium salt PPADS tetrasodiuma is a non-selective P2X receptor antagonist. PPADS tetrasodiuma blocks recombinant P2X1, -2, -3, -5 with IC50s ranging from 1 to 2.6 μM. PPADS tetrasodiuma blocks native P2Y2-like (IC50~0.9 mM) and recombinant P2Y4 (IC50~15 mM) receptors. PPADS tetrasodiuma is an inhibitor of the reverse mode of the Na/Ca²⁺exchanger in guinea pig airway smooth muscle. PPADS tetrasodium salt chemical structure

  11. BCC7079 Suramin hexasodium salt Suramin sodium salt (Suramin hexasodium salt) is a reversible and competitive protein-tyrosine phosphatases (PTPases) inhibitor. Suramin sodium salt is a potent inhibitor of sirtuins: SirT1 (IC50=297 nM), SirT2 (IC50=1.15 μM), and SirT5 (IC50=22 μM). Suramin sodium salt is a competitive inhibitor of reverse transcriptase (DNA topoisomerase II: IC50=5 μM). Suramin sodium salt is an antitrypanosomal, anti-neoplastic and anti-angiogenic agent.
