Determination of Clinodiside A in Clinopodium herb drop pills by RP-HPLC.[Reference: WebLink]

Purpose A method for determination of Clinodiside A in Clinopodium herb drop pills by RP-HPLC was established.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
Diamonsil C18 ODS column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm)was used,mobile phase consisted of methanol and water(75∶25),the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and the wavelength of detector was 250 nm.The average recovery of Clinodiside A was 99.0% and relative standard deviation was 2.28%,respectively(n=5).The linear range was 10.1-101.0 μg/mL,r=0.999 9.
CONCLUSIONS:
The method is simple,rapid and sensitive with good repeatability.It can be used for quality control of Clinodiside A in Clinopodium herb drop pills.

A new triterpenoid saponin named clinopodiside was isolated from Clinopodum Chinense (Benth) O. Kuntze. The structure of clinopodiside A was elucidated by spectroscopic and X-ray diffraction analysis as 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1----6)-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1----4)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-olean-11, 13 (18)-diene-3 beta, 16 beta, 23, 28-tetrol.
