The oleanane type triterpenes from the root of tripterygium hypoglaucum.

One new oleanane type triterpene compound ( 3β-hydroxy-olean-5, 12-dien-28-oic acid) , named hypoglauterpenic acid ( Ⅰ ) , and six known oleanane type triterpene compounds, Triptotriterpenic acid A (Ⅱ), wilforlide B (Ⅲ), wilforlide A (Ⅳ), oleanolic acid acetate (Ⅴ), oleanolic acid (Ⅵ) and 3-epikatonic acid, were isolated from the ethyl acetate soluble fraction of the alcohol extract of the root of Tripterygium hypoglaucum (Levl. ) Levl. ex Hutch by the means of column chromatography. Their structures were stablished on the basis of spectral methods.
