Epilepsy Research

Epilepsy is a group of neurological conditions consisting of recurrent, usually unprovoked epileptic seizures. Epileptic seizures have recently been defined as "a transient occurrence of signs and/or symptoms due to abnormal, excessive or synchronous neuronal activity in the brain". Epilepsy is one of the most common disorders of the brain, with one in 10 people suffering at least one seizure in their lifetime. There are over 40 different types of epilepsy, each of which presents with its own unique combination of seizure type, typical age of onset, EEG findings, treatment, and prognosis.

  2. BCC7482 TCS 46b 302799-86-6 TCS 46b chemical structure
  3. BCC6984 CCMQ 132623-44-0 CCMQ chemical structure
  4. BCC7862 CIQ CIQ is a subunit-selective potentiator of NMDA receptors containing the NR2C or NR2D subunit. CIQ chemical structure
  5. BCC2946 H-Gly-OH Glycine is an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the CNS and also acts as a co-agonist along with glutamate, facilitating an excitatory potential at the glutaminergic N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptors. H-Gly-OH chemical structure
  6. BCC5888 MNI-caged-NMDA 1227675-52-6 MNI-caged-NMDA chemical structure
  7. BCC7292 N20C hydrochloride 1177583-87-7 N20C hydrochloride chemical structure
  8. BCC2676 H-D-Ser-OH (R)-Serine, an endogenous amino acid involved in glia-synapse interactions that has unique neurotransmitter characteristics, is a potent co-agonist at the NMDA glutamate receptor. (R)-Serine has a cardinal modulatory role in major NMDAR-dependent processes including NMDAR-mediated neurotransmission, neurotoxicity, synaptic plasticity, and cell migration. H-D-Ser-OH chemical structure
  9. BCC6864 Spermine tetrahydrochloride Spermine tetrahydrochloride is an endogenous metabolite. Spermine tetrahydrochloride chemical structure
  10. BCC6590 (1S,3R)-ACPD 111900-32-4 (1S,3R)-ACPD chemical structure
  11. BCC6567 (±)-trans-ACPD trans-ACPD, a metabotropic receptor agonist, produces calcium mobilization and an inward current in cultured cerebellar Purkinje neurons. (±)-trans-ACPD chemical structure
