Phenolic compounds from Celastrus angulatus
Indian Chemical Society 2002, vol. 79, no3, pp. 259-260
Four phenolic compounds (+)-catechin (1), (-)-epicatechin (2), 2,4,6-Trimethoxyphenol 1-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), 3β,7,3'-trihydroxy-4'-methoxyflavan-5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4) together with dulcitol (5) have been isolated from the ethanol extracts of the root bark of Celastrus angulatus. Among them, compound 4 is a new methyl derivative of flavan-3-olglycoside. 2,4,6-Trimethoxyphenol 1-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside is first isolated as a new natural product.
